*The photographer of the cabinet card below is likely either Harriett Jordan Gude or her husband George. I have not found any definitive indication that Harriett was herself a photographer, although George was listed in the 1881 census as a photographer in Hackney and in the 1901 census as a photographer at 7 High Street in Maidenhead. It was not uncommon for photography studios to be family businesses with wives and children as active assistants. In any case, I have not found another "H. Gude" active at this time and certainly not at 7 High Street.
