WI0048 – Unknown Infant, Cabinet Card, Benjamin L. Eck & Gottlieb Glaeser, 401 Main Street, Menekaunee, WI

As of yet, I have found no mention of Eck & Glaeser as a studio anywhere, but available source documentation for this time period in Marinette County is spotty.

The Wisconsin Photographers Index says that Benjamin Eck was active in Marinette in 1895–1898. Menekaunee was a small village, now a neighborhood in Marinette.

The Eck & Glaeser to the left photo seems to date from earlier than 1895. Eck's occupation was listed as a Photographer, living in Sheboygan, in his Marriage License application in 1892. His partner, Gottlieb C. Glaeser, is listed in the index as active in Sheboygan from 1900–1926, but it is likely that both index entries are incomplete.

Eck was not a career photographer and went into a variety of professions later in his life, including as a hotel operator and a cider company owner.
